Dear
Friends,
When I retired from my work, people asked me what I was going to do. I told them
I didn't know. They are still asking and I am still sitting here allowing the
field to be fallow for a while. Actually, I'm busier than ever just living life.
Basically, I am just having fun. I'm focusing only on myself, family and friends
which is a novelty for me. Ed and I are planning some nice short trips that involve
local places and will be traveling to Sedona, Arizona in the spring. We've been
playing some golf and, in general, enjoying ourselves. We feel blessed because
of our good health and wonderful opportunities to travel.
This summer, in July, we are taking the whole family, including the three who
live in Switzerland, to Maui. We are ally very excited about this as it's the
first vacation we've all been able to attend together. Ed's granddaughter, Isabelle,
is 15 now and we cannot believe how fast she is growing up... "Sunrise,
Sunset"!
Later this summer in August, a cruise has come up that we think will be really
great. It starts in London and cruises in the Baltic Sea for 14 days. We'll be
seeing countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Norway, Estonia with
the high point being a tour in St. Petersburg, Russia. I'm especially interested
in Russia because my maternal grandfather was born there. When we disembark in
London, we plan to spend a few days there because the city is so interesting.
So this is how it is for the present moment. Every stage of life brings its challenges
and blessings and I know "this too shall pass". Until it does, I couldn't
be happier. Here's hoping you are making it good for yourselves as our Native
American brothers and sisters would say.
Namaste,
Char
